Ordering
Book orders can be placed at any bookstore, directly with Karger Publishers or with one of our representatives.
Every book homepage offers an order form to print out or fill in online. Should the online order form not open, please check your security settings to allow https. If the problem persists or if you prefer, you can also e-mail us at orders@karger.ch.
Please indicate the ISBN number (International Standard Book Number) of any title you wish to order. You find it included in the bibliographic data located usually at the foot of a page both in print media and online. The e-ISBN refers to the electronic version of a title.
Deliveries are made from Karger headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, usually by surface mail.
Standing Order
This special service ensures that you receive all new titles in your particular area of interest immediately on publication, carriage-free. You can specify your requirements such as fields of interest and language of publication.

Continuation Order
Continuation orders authorize Karger to ship and bill each subsequent volume in the selected series immediately upon release. Such orders bring the benefit of automatic continuity under your order number. You may cancel your order at any time. The right to return individual volumes within one year is granted. Books in Karger series are published with variable frequency. Prices vary according to folio, therefore advance payment cannot be accepted. Detailed information can be found on the individual book series' homepage. To place a continuation order, please contact Customer Service.
Distribution Rights
Please note the sole distribution rights for certain book titles and countries as indicated in the individual bibliographic data.
Shipping and Handling, Airmail Delivery
All shipping and handling charges are itemized on the invoice.
Orders are sent by surface mail. Airmail deliveries are made on request. Please indicate your wish clearly.
No shipping (surface mail) and handling charge will be added with prepaid book orders (credit card, cheque).
Payment, Credit Cards
Terms of payment are listed on the back of the invoice. When forwarding payment, please indicate the number and date of invoice or enclose a copy of the invoice.
We accept American Express, Diners, MasterCard, Eurocard and Visa. Please do not forget to indicate your card number and its expiry date. Credit card orders in EUR will be charged in CHF. Book orders prepaid by credit card are supplied carriage free (surface mail).
Online orders require prepayment by credit card.
Prices, Currencies
We use the ISO currency abbreviations: CHF = SFr., EUR = EURO, USD = US$
All prices are based on CHF. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Prices in USD are valid only within the US.
Deutschland, Schweiz, Österreich: Die angegebenen Preise sind empfohlene Ladenpreise. EUR-Preis nur für Deutschland. EUR price for Germany only.
Out of Stock, Out of Print
Books are usually dispatched within 24 hours of receipt of order. Should stock depletion delay delivery or if a title has gone out of print, you will be informed immediately.
