Aims and Scope
'Brain, Behavior and Evolution' is a journal with a loyal following, high standards, and a unique profile as the main outlet for the continuing scientific discourse on the evolution of nervous system structure and function. The journal publishes comparative neurobiological studies that focus on the morphology, physiology, and histochemistry of the nervous systems of vertebrates and invertebrates. 'Brain, Behavior and Evolution' places special emphasis on articles that focus on neurobiology while incorporating aspects of ecology, ethology and comparative psychology that complement the study of nervous system structure, function and evolution, and encourages the application of cutting-edge techniques to advance the understanding of the evolution of the nervous system. In addition to original research reports, the journal contains review articles that provide critical overviews of current topics in comparative neurobiology.
