Abstract
A case is reported of ischaemia of the right arm in an apparently normal newborn infant caused by a thrombus in the first few hours of life. Complete obstruction of the axillary artery was shown by catheterisation. Thrombectomy was performed via the brachial artery with the establishment of a good blood flow in the arm. Follow-up showed a normal child with no residual effects. Copyright © 1990 S. Karger AG, Basel
