Abstract
Sorry, there is no abstract. Read the first few lines of the text instead! It has been suggested that hawks, panthers, jackals, lynxes and wolves may prey on Sichuan golden monkeys in the wild [1, 2], but all these assumptions were based on observations of dead monkeys eaten by predators, and no direct attack of a living individual has been witnessed. During our field study on the behavioural ecology of Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys in Zhouzhi Nature Reserve (107°45' E, 33°44' N) in the Qinling Mountains, predation of a juvenile monkey by a goshawk (Accipiter gentilis) was directly observed by us, and we describe this event here.
