Obesity Facts is an Open Access journal. All published articles are instantly accessible and available free of charge to readers and their institutions. Articles are also free to download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts provided the terms of the Open Access license are followed.

All articles published in Obesity Facts are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC-ND). Any restrictions on reuse under this license are outlined in the following table. Costs of Publishing
In order to cover the costs of publishing the content of Obesity Facts as Open Access, the journal generally levies a single Article Processing Charge (APC) per article it accepts for publication. The APC goes towards the peer review, copyediting, online production in various formats, promotion, online hosting and archiving, as well as making the article available worldwide free to readers (there are no subscription or submission charges).
The APC may be paid by the authors or their funding body or institution. Obesity Facts authors fully meet the requirements of all funding bodies.
