The submission, peer review and editing process of 'Nephron EXTRA' is handled by the Editorial Office of the main journal, 'Nephron'. 'Nephron EXTRA' publishes additional high-quality articles that cannot be published in the main journal 'Nephron' due to space limitations.

Article Processing Charge (APC)
To support Open Access publishing, the authors (or the author’s funding body or institute) are asked to pay a one-time publishing fee (APC) on acceptance of their paper. This fee, the Article Processing Charge (APC), supports the costs of publishing and services such as submission to abstracting and indexing services, archiving and promoting the author's work. There are no subscription fees associated with Open Access journals.
The publishing fee, which includes the reproduction of color illustrations, is CHF 1,800.00.
